This book is totally awesome. It's best to read it out loud. I never knew this other side of Percy B. Shelly.

Both Percy and his dear wife, Mary, were great fans of what Benjamin Franklin was doing at the time, and taken by Franklin's miraculous discovery of...electricity! This was in the days of the great American Statesmen...Franklin was seen then as very cool and his discovery shook the world. Suddenly, this fire from the heavens could be contained in glass jars...

His dear wife, Mary Shelly, started her own book, "Frankenstein," when Percy was halfway into the writing of Prometheus Unbound. This historical event gives much to wonder about as you read. It has nothing to do with the Aeschylus, "Prometheus Bound"--you can skip the Aeschylus and go straight to the Shelly. (And I think...Shelly himself said it had nothing to do with the Greek play, "Prometheus Bound") Either way, you can speed to the Shelly.

This book was suggested by a highly refined gentleman in L.A., Roger Weir, the developer of the LEARNING CIVILIZATION. Weir shared the some of the history of the book that I'm including here, as it added to my enjoyment of the book. Weir suggests Prometheus Unbound to be read along with Fredrick Schiller's "On the Aesthetic Education of Man," as a pair, a complement of two books. As you read, and approach the last part the book, suddenly you connect with the feeling of Schiller's poetry at the end of the Ninth Symphony (the chorous) and you are transported beyond the canopy of the stars...!

"Prometheus Unbound" is one of the finest books in the English Language. It's actually a play, and as readable as Shakespeare, and at an even higher level of refinement and vibration. It's like sitting alone with a spiritual master and listening, listening. Then... BEING... into the unknown unbound...

It might be useful to recall the myth of Prometheus before this superlative reading adventure:

Prometheus was one of the Titans and helped the god Jupiter(Zeus) take over the Heavens to be number-one-God. After this, Prometheus took pity on mankind and stole fire to give to man. Now, Jupiter (Zeus) could not have such a creative thinker roaming heaven and earth and doing favors for men and women. And so Prometheus was chained to a rock in the frozen wastes of what we now call, Sibera. Each day his guts and innards would be plucked out by ravenous birds, and each night his guts and innards would heal and mend--only to be torn out the next day, and the next, to eternity.

Just as the mythological Prometheus liberated man with stealing fire from the Gods--an act for which he is punished by Jupiter (Zeus)...ya know....don't let any man be at the level of Heaven, only below it...don't let any man discover the divine fire within...this book liberates.

(I do "therapy" with people in the ocean-CraniOcean-and work with dolphins --and this book is along a session flow in the ocean. A perfect compliment for meeting the ocean...without and within...for meeting the organic oceanic spiraling waves in love and with freedom.)

After this book, I saw the very first (and best) original "Frankenstein" black and white movie--made in 1931, directed by the great James Whale--and I really got it for the first time...I began to see the Frankenstein image interpenetrating corporate-run-culture, especially in foods at any grocery store in the United States, frozen coagulates of hot dogs, old meat balls, genetic altered fruits...

Percy and Mary were also a pair--the divine united. Percy the blade, Mary the chalice. Their bonding one of the love stories of English poetry.

Awesome read! So grateful it was pointed out to me, and that sat to read it aloud. It took a few hours over two late afternoons. One of the required reads of Western Civilization, especially now!

Worthwhile Is An Understatement - Coffee Is A Necessity

I've studied Gann and have read all his previous books and this one is the most useful of them all. As a Financial Astrologer I saw the direct evidence in print of his using what we call "Astronomic Indicators" though it is painfully incomplete - foolish of me to even consider he'd include his "grail" everyone wants to know! Astrology may or may not be that grail, but astrology is one of the great secrets in the stock and commodity markets. It's the knowledge many of the Wall Street 1% know but will never say aloud. No broker could ever tell his or her client to wait for Jupiter to be in Cancer before buying that homebuilder stock. It's a subject not unlike the secrets of the Masons, and Gann was one of them as well. 33rd Degree if I recall correctly.

The most you could gather from the limited amount of astrology for trading in this book, is this genius did indeed use planetary motion in predicting market movements. It's his handwriting. Gann associated with some of the more prominent astrologers of his time, Jayne and Johndro among them. If you do a search for Gann you'll find probably hundreds of websites who claim to know his techniques and would gladly sell them to you, but I wouldn't believe it. The best of what he used went to the grave with him. What others think he used, they are at best, guessing. The complete picture was likely discovered by a select few but they would never sell that information - they're making money with it by trading! It will be up to you to put together some of these pieces and give it your best shot.

For those of you who are traders and not astrologers, you don't at all need to know astrology to benefit from this book. If you're interested in astrology and the markets, pick up what's called an Ephemeris, or better yet, a copy of Solar Fire 8 astrology software if you're interested in learning his known methodology. Planet longitude equivalents to price are evident, but there is far more to it that is not in this book or anywhere else for that matter. The May 1948 Soybeans chart is perhaps the most complete publicly known example, though it's difficult to decipher as his penmanship was not that of a draftsman of his time - what would've helped immensely!

There's more to it than astrology of course. The book is a great asset in how his thinking process operated in the course of making trades. The magnitude of profit in his trades were astonishing and yet routine in his descriptions of them. Knowing how a master trader thinks and in describing details of his trades alone is a gold mine. You don't dismiss a man who over 45 years had 92% winning trades. This is not fiction, as it was witnessed and documented on the trading floor by Ticker Magazine in 1909.

The most intriguing part of the book for me was the part where not only his astrological indicators were shown, but also the various grids and squares of numbers for determining price and time, all drawn by hand. These include "The Square of Nine," "Square of Twelve" and the other various grids and circle graphs to include the octagon and the "NYSE Permanent Chart." The one on page 323 made me wonder if Gann had Asperger's Syndrome but was able live an otherwise normal life. It may just be his IQ and attention span dwarfs most mortals. When I think of what he could've done at that time with the computers we have now...

The upshot is the book is definitely a bargain for what you get. Just make sure you have a few boxes of K-Cups and your Keurig because you'll need it. You cannot read this book in a day or a weekend! This is more like a one-year college course, so don't rush! As odd as this may sound, you can't just read it and know what he's communicating. You'll need to actively visualize while he narrates his trades to fully understand his process. This is not a canned trading system by any means, but when you get to the end of the book, if you've taken good notes, you'll at the very least have learned swing trading from perhaps the greatest master trader of all.

I am still reading the book, trust me, Gann is not easy reading. However, compared to the other books I have read of Gann's, this one is definitely THE TRADING COURSE explaining his technique in detail. I would recommend it for any trader grasping to make sense of the moves any market makes. Since this book is titled by Gann as the Master Commodities Course, if you are not already familiar with the basics of his technique, you might read through it at first and wonder, what the hell is he talking about? WD Gann the Master

For the Gann fans, this book was definitely written by him. Mr Gann talks of angles, number charts and common sense trading rules. The rules that Gann built on over a long trading history and still so very relevant in today's markets. Mr Gann leads you in with the basics and builds on this base. This book does get somewhat "heavier" towards the end and careful study of what is being shown is a must. I found reading this book in sections and understanding what is being told before moving on but I still return to earlier sections and find something I missed. Hidden Gems ! This book could be used as a beginning and retained as your trading level increases, a must for the trading library. The thing that continues to hold me in awe of Mr Gann, is this man developed his charts, angles, and mathematics that are involved before the days of the electronic calculation devices.

About the Author
Matthew Goldstein served as Chancellor of The City University of New York for fourteen years until 2013. During that time the University saw a resurgence in growth, quality indicators, economic stability and reputation. He is the author of numerous research papers in mathematics and a co-author in three advanced books in statistics. Goldstein was awarded the Carnegie Academic Leadership Award in 2007 and elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2006, among many other honors.

George Otte was named Director of Instructional Technology for The City University of New York in 2001, and renamed the University Director of Academic Technology in 2008. That same year he became the chief academic officer of the CUNY School of Professional Studies, home of CUNY’s fully online degrees. (He was there for the launch of the first online degree; there are now twelve; eight Bachelor’s and four Master’s.) An English professor for decades–he directed writing programs at Baruch College for fifteen years and was awarded that school’s Teaching Excellence award in 1993–he is on the doctoral faculty of the programs in English, Urban Education, and Interactive Technology and Pedagogy at the CUNY Graduate Center. He has chaired the CUNY IT Conference since 2002 and the CUNY Committee on Academic Technology since 2008. He earned his doctorate at Stanford in what was then the new (still extant) Modern Thought and Literature program in 1982.

As a person in AA, it is helpful to see all the people who have come before you with the same problems. There are many years worth of wisdom in this book. Although some of it may sound a little antiquated to younger ears, if you look past "dated language" to universal wisdom, there are plenty of little and big pieces to add to your own program.

it is in like new condition

I don't know if it was intentional, or an accident, but I paid for a paper back and got the hardback copy!!!!! And, other than a few light notations next to some of the photos (which were actually helpful), it is in like new condition.
I was trained using this book almost 30 years ago, and the book was not available anywhere at that time (I have been looking for it ever since, and so excited to find it now)...I was thinking there was more in depth personality information in it...that must have been more from my trainer, and as I'm starting up a consultation service again, I'm regretting getting rid of my notes...
But this is a must have for any color analysis library
I highly recommend watching some of John Kitchner's (JCP) videos on YouTube...his system is based on Suzanne's theories, but has been brought into the 21st century...it is by far the best of all the systems being offered today

Suzanne Caygill originated the whole concept of color analysis for the individual, beginning in 1942. After working for years with color and style as a milliner and designer, she experienced a "revelation" about the relationship between a person's natural coloration (as seen in the pigments in their skin, hair and eyes) and the color harmonies of nature. In addition to color, she also developed her theories on personality and style for each season. While a person's color palette is unique to them, Suzanne found certain recurring patterns of personality and style, as revealed by the colors. For example, the colors that emerge for "Spring personalities" are "clear," while those for Summer are "muted." Suzanne said that she worked with 64 different personality types, and she used names to help a person relate to nature: "Early Spring," "Golden Spring," "Waterlily Spring," "Apple Blossom Spring," "Vital Spring" and many others. While two "Vital Springs" would have similarity in style, energy, and personality characteristics -- their colors could be very different, depending on their individual pigmentation.
Suzanne decried the "simple" color systems, popularized first by the 1970's book "Color Me Beautiful," which coded people to 1 of 4 "sets" of colors. But Suzanne's artistry and genius was not easy to replicate. Her clients came primarily through referrals -- including families with four generations having their "colors done by Suzanne." She started her 10-week Academy of Color in the late 70's for select students, some of whom have now gone on to train others.
Suzanne's book "Color the Essence of You" was written in 1980. It provides a visual education, matching pictures of her clients to flowers and scenes in nature. It is packed with information about personality characteristics, and how to use your palette in decorating.
As a Graduate of Suzanne's Academy of Color and having been involved directly with her and her work for 12 years, I find the book to be a wealth of information -- and a reminder of how incredible Suzanne was.

Condition Not Quite Up to Expectations

Although all pages were intact, based on the description of the condition of the book, I didn't expect as much wear as it had. Interestingly, the original price on this book when it was new was $65, so it's value has certainly held up over the years.

good basic nursing school textbook

Good basic nursing ethics information. A textbook for nursing students. Concepts easily explained. The format is easy to follow and examples are given of nursing ethics theories.

3rd edition Kindle preferred over 4th edition digital

3rd edition vs 4th edition digital formats: I have both and first let me say I very much enjoy the book. Ethics can be dry reading, but it is truly full of valuable content. Diving into ethics we are surrounded with negativity, and the authors do a good job of keeping the book fresh and positive despite this. They are quite sensitive to Christian and cultural issues.
The 4th edition digital edition requires another app from the website and non-kindle source. I bought the print edition and then used a code to access the online version. When doing this from a PC I have to choose a chapter and a time, and if I want to change chapters I have leave one chapter and find the other and pull it up, get the screen correct etc. It is cubersome to log into and to find where I need to be especially using one chapter at a time. The app is some better than the PC version, but the note and highlight feature is not as robust as Kindles.
