This book changed my life

I would highly recommend this book for medical professionals, parents, and obviously people with diabetes. I consider myself to be fairly comfortable with my diabetes management, but I've been unhappy with my A1c and my control in general lately. I would say getting a cgm was the biggest improvement followed by this book and more frequent endocrinologist appointments. The book discusses the theory as well as the nuts and bolts of logistically figuring out insulin sensitivity, nutrition, and strategies for trouble shooting basal rates, etc. I've been trying to figure out some differences I've been observing in insulin duration and it was a big help.
My only complaint about the book is that some of the charts are difficult to read on the kindle format. Not the author's fault, but my insulin pump (Tandem TSlim) and CGM (Dexcom G4) were released after this edition was published.

Buy in physical format only

I love my Kindle and the convenience of being able to carry multiple books with me all the time. This is the first time I've ever returned a Kindle book. The book contained a lot of useful information, but in the Kindle format, at the size font I was using, the charts and tables were extremely hard to read and follow. While you could "zoom" the charts so they were on the screen by themselves, it was still difficult to switch between a chart and the text that referenced it. As advised in the title of this review, I will probably re-purchase it in physical format.

A wealth of information.

I am getting ready to go on the insulin pump and someone had recommended this book. It has so much information for first timers and even seasonal users. It answered a lot of my questions and general concern I had. It is a great reference tool to have too.
